Mathematical Optimization and Control for Industrial and Societal Challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa

Date: 7 – 10 September 2026  |  Venue: Manhattan Hotel, Pretoria

About the Workshop

The main objective of the workshop is to explore how mathematical optimization and control theory can be applied to solve real-world challenges in logistics infrastructure, financial inclusion, and environmental management. It aims to equip postgraduate students and early-career researchers with both foundational knowledge and practical tools, while also building lasting research partnerships.

Participation: The workshop brings together researchers, postgraduate students and industry practitioners from institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK.
